Nonfiction Picture Book Challenge: What's in my stack this week? - November 6, 2019

Recently, I have been dealing with a number of work deadlines and haven’t had enough time this week to pull together all the November and December upcoming releases as I do in a normal new release post. So, this is a cross between “What am I reading?” and a “New Release Post”. These titles are currently sitting on the side table by my living room sofa and I am flipping through them. I marvel that there is so much amazing nonfiction with topics for everyone. With the exception of two of the books, these are longer form nonfiction.

A is for Audra: Broadway’s Leading Ladies from A to Z by John Robert Allman, Illustrated by Peter Emmerich (Doubleday Books for Young Readers, November 12, 2019)

Beetle Battles: One Scientist’s Journey of Adventure and Discovery by Doug Emlen (Roaring Brook Press, December 24, 2019

Bugs in Danger: Our Vanishing Bees, Butterflies, and Beetles by Mark Kurlansky, Illustrated by Jai Liu (Bloomsbury Children’s Books, November 12, 2019)

The Presidents: Portraits in History by Leah Tinari (Aladdin, October 29, 2019)

Spies, Lies, and Disguise: The Daring Tricks and Deeds that Won World War II by Jennifer Swanson, Illustrations by Kevin O’Malley (Bloomsbury Children’s Books, November 26, 2019)

We are Makers: Real Women and Girls Shaping Our World by Amy Richards (Viking Books for Young Readers, November 19, 2019)

Mark your calendars for these upcoming releases and look for these books at your local indie bookstore.
