It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Jen & Kellee from
Teach Mentor Texts have adapted this to focus on Picture Books to Young Adult Books.
After getting back from ALA Midwinter, I had a super busy week which limited the number of books that I could read. Here are a few that stood out to me from the past week.
Peace by Wendy Anderson Halperin - I found this title up in Seattle at the Secret Garden Bookstore. The illustrations are beautiful and the text weaves together.
Infinity and Me by Kate Hosford - This book is a good one for math fans. I enjoyed how the author tries to help readers understand the concept of Infinity.
Jacob Lawrence in the City by Susan Goldman Rubin- An interesting board book that looks at various paintings of Jacob Lawrence.
Penguin on Vacation by Salina Yoon (release date April 16, 2013) - I had an opportunity to see an F&G of this one. I love this follow-up to Penguin and Pinecone.
So, what are you reading this week?

Such beautiful books! My math partner would like Infinity. I will have to share it with her.
ReplyDeleteGigi I want to share the Infinity book with all my math teacher friends. Hope your teaching partner likes it.
DeleteThe Peace book looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteTara - The Peace book is beautiful.
DeletePeace looks like an amazing book!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for Skyping with my class today! We learned a lot. Even the other teacher in the room (whose class I commandeered) said she thought it was really informative. :)
Beth - it was fun chatting with your class today and glad that the other teacher also found it informative. :-)
DeleteJacob Lawrence is one of my favorite artists, but I've never seen that particular book about him and certainly never a board book! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI was a little surprised that it was a board book...but it is kind of cool.
DeletePenguin! I can't wait to start knitting... you'll have to tell me what happens in the book.
ReplyDeleteMy understanding is that the 3rd Penguin book will feature knitting again. This one did not have knitting. But really cute story.
DeleteWow, I didn't know about the Penguin sequel. Plus, I haven't read any of the books you mentioned but they all look great.
ReplyDeletePenguin will have a 3rd book too. How cool is that?!
