Hot Off the Press! Is Back!

I walked into Vroman's Bookstore this morning for my weekly visit and was so excited to see the Hot Off The Press wall was back!  Yay!  I nearly did a happy dance right there.  I did collect a stack of books.
Bookstack #1

I then went over and told Kayce that I was thrilled to have the wall back, and promptly started grazing through all of the wonderful new titles.  When Morgan arrived, I repeated my appreciation for their bringing back my favorite wall.  I am glad Morgan and Kayce know me and don't think I am some crazy customer.
Bookstack #2
I even had time for a second bookstack.  Unfortunately, I didn't have time for a third bookstack so I will definitely need to visit again...soon.

Here are some of my favorites from today.  Now go read them.

Crafty Chloe by Kelly DiPucchio; Illustrated by Heather Ross (Atheneum Books for Young Readers)

C.R. Mudgeon by Leslie Muir; Illustrated by Julian Hector (Atheneum Books for Young Readers)

Kali's Song by Jeanette Winter (Random House Children's Books)

Huff & Puff by Claudia Rueda (Abrams)

Kite Day by Will Hillenbrand (Holiday House)

I am hoping that Hot Off The Press will return as a Sunday feature.  And for readers who live near enough to visit Vroman's in person - don't forget to stop in and see all of the great new books available and maybe even buy one of the above titles.

  1. Wow, that's a lot of books. It looks like you have some good ones. I wish we had a Vroman's in Valencia.

  2. Beautiful, want my local book store to have this! They do have a walk-around shelf that is nice enough, but these jump out at you!

    1. Vroman's moved the books for tables for awhile and I am glad they moved them back to the wall. It really does jump out at you.

  3. I had a similar experience today at our library. The children's department is newly remodeled and they introduced a wall of "Sizzling" reads! The books on the wall are hot of the press and are only allowed to be checked out once -- no renewals. We were able to get many new books including Kite Day. We are really looking forward to reading them.

    Thanks for sharing your discoveries!

  5. So jealous that you have a bookstore close to you. I have to go about 50 miles to get to a bookstore. It makes me really sad. It was a sad sad day in my community when our local bookstore closed.

    1. Stacey - I am so fortunate and I know it. I have not 1 but 5 independent bookstores in my area and 3 are children's bookstores. I am very, very lucky.

  6. I thought Kite Day was so cute! I have a lesson ready to go with Kite Day after break. We're looking at sentence structure and getting a sense of sentence. The text in Kite Day is simple but she uses some great words at the same time.

Are you sure you didn't actually do the happy dance!? Because I can't imagine you being able to hold in that happy dance. I'm sure you were grinning even if you were able to withhold the happy dance. :)
